What would you like for us in Sweden to know about the situation in the Holy land?
Ruba Aburdeineh, headmistress of The Good Shepherd’s Swedish School, Bethlehem:
As a Palestinian born and raised in Palestine, I urge everyone to understand our reality. We have the right to exist in our homeland, and despite the ongoing conflict, we strive for peace and coexistence. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the violence in the West Bank highlight our struggles, yet we remain hopeful.
We accepted the Oslo Accords, believing in a shared future, but many promises remain unfulfilled. Our Christian community, deeply rooted in this land, faces challenges yet is determined to stay. We deserve to live in peace, with all our rights respected and acknowledged.
Support from the international community, including friends in Sweden, is crucial for us to achieve a just and lasting resolution. Together, we can work towards a future where all people in the Holy Land can thrive in dignity and harmony.
